Download & Installation
Instructions for downloading and installing RMBench
For the purpose of download and installation RMBench uses the update manager provided by Eclipse. This applies both for initial installation, as well as for future version updates.
Prerequisites
Currently, RMBench requires version 3.1.x or 3.2 of eclipse and the corresponding version of GEF (Graphical Editing Framework). You can install GEF through the update manager, or download it separately.
Installing using Eclipse Update Manager
The first step is to open the Install Wizard by traversing the menus "Help"/"Software Updates"/"Find and Install" to open the Installation Wizard. For the first installation, you choose "Search for new features to install". On the following page, you need to register a new remote update site pointing to the RMBench updates, using the URL:
If you are going to install GEF through the update manager, also check the Eclipse update site. After subsequently pressing the "Finish" button, you will be led through automatic download and installation of the new feature.
Using RMBench
After you have installed the feature and restarted Eclipse, you can begin to use RMBench by opening the RMBench perspective, either by using the Window menu or the Open Perspective toolbutton. Please have a look at the online help for further guidance.
By downloading RMBench, you have received a Community License which enables most features, but maintains a limit of 40 tables and 3 diagrams. To take full advantage of RMBench's features, you may want to register for a trial license, or - even better - purchase the commercial edition.
